    Why swelling happens

    Leg swelling can come from veins, lymphatic drainage, medication, heart or kidney problems, injury, infection, or prolonged standing. Duplex ultrasound is useful when a clot, venous reflux, or circulation problem is suspected.

    When to take it seriously
