Assessment before sclerotherapy
Spider veins and small superficial veins may be assessed for sclerotherapy. Bulging varicose veins, swelling, skin changes, previous clots, or significant symptoms may need duplex mapping before a treatment plan is discussed.
What patients should expect
The result depends on vein size, distribution, skin response, compression instructions, and whether deeper venous reflux is present. More than one session may be needed, and results cannot be guaranteed from a website page.
